Memory Verse (ESV)
And David danced before the Lord with all his might.
2 Samuel 6:14
In 2 Samuel 6:12–15 we discover a joyful moment where King David shows his deep love for God. The Ark of God, which reminded the people of his holiness and presence, was finally being brought to Jerusalem. This was a huge celebration, and David wanted everyone to remember God’s goodness.
When David heard that the Ark was near, his heart overflowed with joy. Instead of walking calmly like a king, he danced. He danced with all his might. His dancing was not to impress others. It was his heartfelt worship to God. David even wore a simple linen garment to show humility.
The trumpets blasted. The priests marched. People cheered and clapped. The whole city celebrated because they knew God was with them. It was like a giant parade filled with music, dancing, and thanksgiving.
This story teaches us that God loves a joyful and sincere heart. Worship is not just a song or a prayer. It is showing our love for God in everything we do. David teaches children to worship God boldly, joyfully, and with all their heart.
